Grab & Go Crafts

Find age-appropriate arts and crafts kits in the Children’s Room!

The kits contain instructions, and often everything you need to complete the craft! (The instructions will indicate any necessary supplies not included.)

Our crafts rotate seasonally, check our email newsletter for announcements about current crafts!

Each kit is FREE to take, available while supplies last.

Summer Storywalk

Learn about the extraordinary journey of the monarch butterfly in both English and Spanish!

This summer, our storywalk is Señorita Mariposa, written by Ben Gundersheimer and illustrated by Marcos Almada Rivero.

Our storywalks can be found and followed on the Side Lawn.

Sketch-A-Library Drawing Contest

The Children’s Room is hosting a drawing contest featuring the Library building!

Pick up instructions from the Youth Services Desk, sketch your image of the Centerville Public Library, and return it by the end of the month to enter the competition!

Winners will be chosen from two age categories, up to 8 and 9 and above.

Winners will be announced the second week of September and will be given a certificate and a prize.

Tales for Tails

Your favorite weekly program is coming back!
Registration opens Wednesday, April 1.

Lets boost confidence in reading while socializing cats and small animals to help prepare them for adoption!

Interested kids (ages 6-12) can apply for the rewarding opportunity to volunteer as a Tales for Tails Reader.

Registration required for a 15-minute reading slot.

Tales for Tails is in collaboration with the Centerville MSCPA and is held at the adoption center.

We’re inviting youth this summer to join us every Thursday for FREE LUNCH after storytime!

Lunch will be available on a first come, first served basis for children, ages 18 and under, courtesy of the YMCA’s Summer Eats Program.

LET’S BUILD TOGETHER!

Join other LEGO lovers and dive into our huge stash of LEGOs to build anything you want. Each participant can take home what they make to keep!

No registration required, drop in! FREE! Intended for ages 5+

Social Group for Neurodivergent Teens

Our amazing volunteer Isadora Greenberg will be the group leader. She is a passionate advocate and role model for Cape Advocates Standing Together and has presented at several conferences. Isadora understands the social challenges a young person with autism and ADHD faces, so this inclusive group is a safe space to be and celebrate YOU!

Activities will be determined by the interests of the participants. We will share a variety of sensory items, but feel free to bring your own and/or noise-cancelling headphones.
