Come meet the Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage!

Formed in 2017, Old Ladies against Underwater Garbage (OLAUG) clean up ponds from Falmouth to Chatham. Gathering small teams of swimmers ages 65-85, they sweep along the the shallows, diving down to pick up beer cans, golf balls, fishing lures, waterlogged dog toys, hats, jackets, shoes, and occasionally a tire, cell phone or box of spent fireworks.

About OLAUG:

This presentation will be led by a diverse group of women. One of the women is a kayaker, others are swimmers. One is on the Board of Directors. Another is known for swimming all year round among the ice flows, and a fourth is a triathlete.

In other words, they are all impressive women who have been with OLAUG for 1 to 4 years and will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about submerged garbage.
