Experience Ireland with Sean Murphy

Experience Ireland: Song, Music, Dance, Art and Comedy
Presentation with Sean Murphy
Friday, September 18 at 2:00 PM
In-person in Community Rooms AB
Local Irish historian, musician, and dance teacher is coming to CPL to give a presentation with some uplifting pieces featuring some wonderful examples of Irish people keeping their culture and history alive.
You will get a mixture of Irish history, music, dance, ancient art, and comedy all blended into a show about Ireland through the ages. He will use video clips of traditional Irish music and dance that will let you see how this aspect of Irish culture is thriving. Images of ancient art, many dating back thousands of years, will be accompanied by a narrative that helps you to understand their origin and history.
There will be a quick overview of the history of Ireland that includes information on the physical formation of Ireland, and some ancient and recent historical events.
It would not be possible to have an Irish night without some humor. There will be some clips of family-friendly laughs by one of the greatest Irish comedians, the late Brendan Grace.
