Comics-Making Class with Local Artist, C.R. Florence!

For ages 8-15. No experience necessary!

Local comics artist, C.R. Florence, is coming to teach the basics of telling a story using sequential art! Learn how to use this medium to explore topics or themes that are important to you.

Students will use tools common among industry professionals such as pencils, multi-liner pens, markers, and colored pencils to explore and express their personal style.

Registration is required to attend.

About the Artist:

C.R. (Craig) Florence was born on the crooked peninsula of Cape Cod in Massachusetts where he lives with his beautiful partner, their two children, and one very hungry cat.

Craig is a self-taught illustrator and comics artist, specializing in traditional line art. His comics work has been published by Scout Comics and Band of Bards, and has been featured in many different anthology collections. He is currently working on Black Sam, a limited series based on the true tale of the pirate Captain “Black Sam” Bellamy and his love for Maria Hallet, the “Witch of Wellfleet”.

When he isn’t making comics, Craig works as a teaching artist, volunteers with local community arts organizations, and finds ways to use his voice and his art to advocate for issues he’s passionate about.
