Artist of the Month: Stuart Cooperrider
May 2024
Stuart’s first “real” camera was a Nikon FG, a gift to celebrate his move to NYC and a new job as an advertising copywriter on Madison Ave. It got a lot of use. Over the years, Stuart’s ad career took him across the country from Boston to Miami to San Francisco. Along the way, as his responsibilities grew, time for shooting shrunk. But his photo interest never waned and eventually led to his second act as a landscape photographer. After moving back to the Cape where he grew up, Stuart drew on his local knowledge and love of the area to create his art. His images have been in Nantucket Magazine and Cape Cod Life and his work has been recognized in local and national juried shows at the Cape Cod Art Center, Cotuit Center for the Arts and the Plymouth Art Center.
Stuart lives in Centerville and still has his old Nikon FG.

Stuart Cooperrider's art will be displayed in the front lobby of Centerville Library during the month of May. Select pieces will be available for sale, a portion of proceeds benefit the library.
