Struna’s first two successful novels\, The Old Cape House and The Old Cape Teapot were pirate adventures based on the 1717 Cape legend of Maria Hallett and her pirate lover Sam Bellamy\, captain of the wrecked ship Whydah. Her research took her on a ten-year journey trying to decipher the facts from the legend and then another three years of crafting her story. Because end of life has very unique and difficult questions that are sometimes hard to answer. \n\n\n\n\nWhen will the death happen?\n\n\n\nWhy are they acting like this?\n\n\n\nWhat if I say something wrong?\n\n\n\nWhat do I say if I get asked a tough question?\n\n\n\nWhat if I don’t know what to say?\n\n\n\n\nThis is a 1-hour presentation to help you overcome awkwardness and feel confident in caring for someone.It is designed for: \n\n\n\n\nPeople who are\, or will be\, the support person for a family member or friend.\n\n\n\nPeople who want to volunteer to support someone on hospice.\n\n\n\n\n\nClick here to RSVP for this presentation!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout our Speaker:\n\n\n\nAlthough Bob is originally from northern NJ\, he moved to MA in 1987. However\, he has vacationed on the Cape for over 40 years. He and his wife were able to finally “wash ashore” to Eastham in 2022. He has over 24 years of pastoral experience and over 10 years of hospice work\, initially as a Chaplain and now as a Volunteer Coordinator. As a Coordinator\, his drive is to find and train volunteers to come along side those who are at the end stage of life. \n\n\n\nIn addition to his wife\, his family includes four grown children and four grandchildren. In his free time he enjoys dining out with his wife\, playing the guitar\, being a member of the Mass Corps of Fire Chaplains\, trips to Peru\, and walking every night on the beach at 10:00 PM (especially to rescue stranded marine life).
